San Miguel de Allende

Three weeks ago my Mexican Culture teacher asked us to upload our favorite cities and places in Mexico to the class’ Facebook page. I didn’t do that assignment. Even though I visited some really beautiful places and cities, I didn’t feel like I was in the position yet to determine my favorite place… until I visited San Miguel de Allende, the day after I went to Guanajuato.

Before we even went out of the car, I fell in love with it. In Bavaria there is a little town called “Regensburg” and with all the charm of Downtown, the individual shops and the little streets, the atmosphere I felt totally out of place.

I really fell in love with the two French girls, who where sitting in two of my classes for the whole semester and I cannot say what brought us together, but somehow we became friends and keep on going with it. We went out on Friday and Wednesday and Saturday this week, we already made plans also. Funny how things sometimes turn out.

My year is coming to its end and I have so much to do. In fact my To do list gets longer with every day, so my motivation is shrinking. My body is refusing to stay awake and focused and I am just so ready to start to work and reach a new stage in my life… and somehow I feel bad for it. As if I am not appreciating what I had here. The bad and the good.
